Article VIII - Positions and Duties
Section 8.1- Elected Positions

President |
|
- Administer the business of the Alliance
- Plan and preside at all meetings of the Alliance
- Chair the Executive Board
- Facilitate the appointment of Chairs for all standing and ad hoc committees with the advice of the incoming Executive Board

President Elect |
|
- Assist the President in the planning of Executive Board meetings
- Serve as Chair in the President's absence at Executive Board meetings
- Perform such duties as may be assigned by the President or the Board
|
| c. |
Secretary |
|
- Record and distribute minutes of all meetings of the Executive Board
- Perform secretarial functions as requested by the Executive Board
|
| d. |
Treasurer |
|
- Account for all funds, disburse and collect money
- Submit a financial report at each meeting
- Verify financial transactions of all Alliance events and meetings
- Complete and submit government required forms and reports
- Maintain an account at a financial institution as directed by the Executive Board
|
| e. |
Vice President - Employers |
|
- Serve as a liaison to the Employer Advisory Panel
- Provide insight and direction on matters relating to employer issues or concerns
- Coordinate special projects as determined by the Executive Board
|
| f. |
Vice President - Higher Education |
|
- Provide perspectives reflective of the needs and interests of the collegiate membership
- Provide insight and direction on matters relating to Higher Education issues or concerns
- Coordinate special projects as determined by the Executive Board
|
| g. |
Immediate Past President
- Serve as special consultant to the President and Executive Board
- Serve as Chair of the Nominations/Elections Committee
- Administer the election process in the year serving as Immediate Past President
- Coordinate special projects as determined by the Executive Board
|
Section 8.2 - Volunteer or Appointed Positions All volunteer or appointed positions:
- Will serve for a minimum of one year
- Attend Board meetings and the Annual Conference
- Participate in Alliance sponsored activities
- Prepare a report for the Alliance newsletter and an annual report for membership

Membership Chair
- Work with board members in the development and execution of the annual membership drive
- Maintain and provide a membership roster
- List organizations by region
- Provide member information when necessary to conduct the business of the Alliance

| b. |
Marketing Chair
- Maintain a high level of awareness regarding the activities of the Alliance and its member organizations
- Identifying opportunities for the promotion of the Alliance and its mission
- Create and maintain promotional materials that will increase awareness of the Alliance
- Maintain and update the Alliance website
|
| c. |
Conference Chair
- Establish a conference planning committee, area and site selection, budget, solicit topics and speakers, and develop a schedule of events
- With the help of the committee, plan, coordinate, and implement all facets of the annual conference each year
|
| d. |
Awards Chair
- Coordinate the Alliance's award programs through the preparation of materials for each award including criteria and guidelines
- Solicit nominations, distribute collected materials for review, and arrange for distribution and presentation of awards
- Present award recipients with award/recognition at annual meeting/conference
|
Section 8.3 - Regional Representatives

The Alliance is comprised of four regions throughout the state of Michigan.
Region One - Northern Michigan and Upper Peninsula
Region Two - Mid Michigan
Region Three - Southeast Michigan
Region Four - West Michigan |

Coordinate regional events and activities |

Actively recruit members |
| d. |
Report Alliance business and initiatives back to other regional organization members |
| e. |
Support the mission and goals of the Alliance by sharing this information with non members |
Section 8.4 - Special Interest Liaisons
| a. |
Experiential Learning Representative
- Serve as an advocate and promote a greater awareness, understanding, and practice of cooperative education and internships as well as other experiential learning opportunities in the State of Michigan
- Develop relationships to build strong experiential programs, educate employers, educators, students, parents and government officials of the academic, career development, and economic benefits of internships and co-op
- Assist the membership chair with outreach to Experiential Learning professionals

Career Services Representative
- Serve as an advocate for Career Services' priorities and needs within the Alliance
- Avocate new and innovative approaches to delivering career services to clients; promote career events and job fairs
- Assist the membership chair with outreach to Career Services professionals
|
| c. |
4-Year Public College/University Representative
- Serve as an advocate for the 4-Year College/University priorities and needs within the Alliance
- Represent 4-year College/University needs within the Alliance
- Advocate new and innovative approaches to connecting with and serving 4-year Colleges/Universities
- Assist the membership chair with outreach to the 4-Year College/University professionals

2-Year Public College Representative
- Serve as an advocate for the 2-Year College priorities and needs within the Alliance
- Represent 2-year College needs within the Alliance
- Advocate new and innovative approaches to connecting with and serving 2-year Colleges
- Assist the membership chair with outreach to the 2-Year College professionals

Private College/University Representative
- Serve as an advocate for the Private Colleges priorities and needs within the Alliance
- Represent the Private Colleges needs within the Alliance
- Advocate new and innovative approaches to connecting with and serving the Private Colleges
- Assist the membership chair with outreach to the Private College professionals
|
| f. |
Auxiliary Group
- Serve as an advocate for their organization/institution priorities and needs within the Alliance
- Advocate new and innovative approaches to connecting with and serving other organizations/institutions
- Assist the membership chair in outreach to organization/institution professionals
|
Section 8.5 - Employer Panel
- Serve as a resource for the Executive Board to receive employer related feedback
- Identify specific employer issues or concerns relating to the development of a close working partnership with the Career Placement, Internship, and Cooperative Education Community
- Advocate Career Placement, Internships and Cooperative Education in the State of Michigan
- Provide input for annual meeting content and other Alliance events
