Each year MCEEA offers five awards to students, employers and

Carol Quandt Student Essay Contest - The Carol Quandt Student Essay Contest was instituted in 1992 to honor the retirement of Carol Quandt from the University of Michigan - Dearborn and her years of dedication to co-op. Carol Quandt is known for always putting students first. The essay contest is available to all currently enrolled students or graduates who are participating in or have completed a co-op/internship assignment through an Institution of Higher Education in Michigan, or have completed a co-op/internship with an employer located in Michigan. Students are provided an essay topic. A cash prize of $1,000.00 will be awarded to the first place winner.
New Graduate Essay Contest - The New Graduate Essay contest is available to students who have graduated (or will graduate) from a Michigan college/university between May of the previous year and May of the current year. Student/graduates must have utilized the resources offered through the office of Career Services at his/her college/university. A cash prize of $1,000.00 will be awarded to the first place winner.
Employer of the Year Award - This award was established in 1996 and recognizes the outstanding contributions by an employer organization for their efforts in promoting and sustaining quality internship/cooperative education programs and career opportunities in the state of Michigan. A special plaque is presented at the MCEEA Annual Conference to recognize the recipient.
Career Services Professional Award - The Career Services Professional Award was instituted in 2012 to recognize the work of Michigan Career Services Professionals who demonstrate initiative for Career Services activities which benefit Michigan, supports the Michigan Career Educator and Employer Alliance; encourages employer development in Michigan and acts as a mentor to Michigan Career Services Professionals. This individual is also involved in associations at the regional or national level. A special plaque is presented at the MCEEA Annual Conference to recognize the recipient.
